Cocktail Monday – Brosecco

By / Wine + Drinks / January 23rd, 2012 / 1

Adapted from a recipe developed by Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery of St. Catharines, Ontario. The reference here, of course, is to the proprietors of Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery. The brothers – Matthew, Daniel and Paul Speck – promote their family history by way of a lengthy bio on their website and via their wine, naming their products after the family in one way or another. It is, by rights, an impressive history going all the way back to the late 1700s in the Niagara region. That’s pretty impressive for a 144 year country. Of course, they weren’t winemakers back then, but they must have had the art of wine-, beer- and spirit-making in their blood even then. The family ran a tavern and inn that still stands to this day.
