Finding the perfect watering hole, for a wine lover, used to be like searching for a pirate’s buried treasure. Without a map. Wine bars provide us with a unique experience – and the opportunity to try new wines the way we would try, say, a craft beer at a local pub.

To find the best wine bars in Toronto, I turned to Toronto-based sommelier, Brie Dema, who is a WSET wine educator, CMS Advanced Sommelier and Italian Wine Ambassador through Vinitaly International Academy. Dema not only enjoys indulging in, musing over and writing about wine, she is also very fond of serving it, and has had the pleasure of working as a Sommelier in some of Ontario’s best restaurants. “Life is meant to be celebrated, as is a bottle shared between friends,” says Dema.

Grab your friends and head over to one of Dema’s top six wine bars in Toronto to share that bottle (and maybe some others).
