Bear River Vineyards

By / Wine + Drinks / December 9th, 2009 / 2

Steep south facing terraces in a hot sunny bowl contain four acres of vines planted in gravel/slate soil, creating a ‘Mosel’ terroir. This winery, constructed within a 19th century ‘Bank Barn,’ allows a gravity system of winemaking on three floors. Sustainable renewable environmental systems are incorporated into the Winery with a 3kw solar powered electrical system and with biodiesel powered machinery and vehicles. Demonstrations and tours are welcomed.
