5 wines to keep you cozy when it’s cold outside
Riesling
Channel your inner European by sipping on Riesling as the temperature plunges. This grape creates white wines that make great pairings with comfort food – spicy Thai, creamy pasta, cheese fondues and even greasy-spoon pizza.
Look for the older, cellared Rieslings from Germany or Washington if you want to sip it on its own for some warmth. These tend to develop smoky, honey aromas over time.
Anselmann Riesling Auslese 2012

“Great value here. Golden straw in colour with a bouquet of honey and peach with mineral notes. Medium-bodied and medium sweet, well-balanced honey and grapefruit flavours with abundant length.”
