5 North Vancouver breweries you can’t miss
If you drive across Lion’s Gate Bridge, you’ll find no shortage of places to grab a beer in North Vancouver. The number of breweries in the area has surged since 2010. These five breweries are a must-see for microbrewery lovers who want to spend a day at the foot of the North Shore Mountains.
Bridge Brewing Company
Bridge Brewing opened as Vancouver’s first nano-brewery in 2012. Since then, they’ve upgraded the size of their facility to match the demand for their craft beer. They have a large selection of beer on tap that makes it the perfect spot to stop on a rainy day (there will be plenty).

House of Funk Brewing Co.
If you enjoy experimenting with unique flavours, you’ll love House of Funk. They use their small-batch system to create unique brews that you won’t find anywhere else. For example, they brew “Flora” with rose hips and butterfly pea flower that gives it a deep indigo colour.
If you’re more of a coffee drinker, you can stop by their expresso bar that’s open daily until 3:00 pm.
Recommended: Funk Juice, Flora, Bootsy
Beere Brewing Co.
No, we didn’t misspell “beer”. Beere Brewing Co. opened in 2017 by a father and son with the last name Beere. If you’re born with a name like that, you’re destined to open a brewery. The next time you’re in the city’s shipyard district, stop in for a few “Beeres” in their tasting room.

Black Kettle Brewing
Black Kettle Brewing opened its doors in 2014. It has a casual vibe that makes it the perfect spot to catch up with friends while drinking a “Don’t Feed the Bears.” You’re sure to feel welcomed here by their friendly staff as you’re sitting beneath the wooden canoe mounted to the ceiling.
Recommended: Black IPA, Don’t Feed the Bears, Black Tusk Oyster Stout
Hearthstone Brewery
Hearthstone is a brewery and restaurant with a rustic atmosphere that opened in 2014. If you stop in for a beer, you’ll also have to try their freshly made pizza with toppings like wild boar sausage and diced brie. No matter what time of year you visit, they have great seasonal drinks your taste buds will love such as “Cool Hand Cuke”.
Recommended: Chocolate Milk Stout, Rizzla Rice Lager, Cool Hand Cuke (seasonal)
