Polaroid Zip Instant Photoprinter

Polaroid started the instant photo craze what seems like eons ago in tech time. Luckily, they’re helping to bring it back with their Polaroid Zip Instant Photoprinter. Only there’s a tiny twist – your phone is the camera.

“Smartphones have become the go-to tool for sharing our favorite memories digitally, but there is something special about sharing a physical photo,” said Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid. “The Polaroid Zip photoprinter brings the Polaroid experience into the mobile age allowing users to quickly and easily print and share their favorite photos anywhere.”

This smartphone-sized printer is small enough to fit into your pocket and light enough that it won’t feel as if you’re carting bricks around everywhere you go. In fact, it’s one of the smallest and lightest portable printers on the market.

You connect your mobile device to the printer via Bluetooth 4.0 or NFC, and control the settings (filters, effects, paint mode, frames, stickers and so much more) through their free iOS and/or Android app. You can even add animations (visible only through the app), create collages of up to 9 different images and make new business cards!

Once you’ve edited the image to your heart’s content in the app, you hit print and the photo comes out quickly (under a minute for 2X3” photos). Images are printed on patented ZINK Paper®, which was developed by ZINK Imaging. It’s part of their ink-free Zero Ink® Printing technology (if you’re curious about how it works, their website is a good read).

In the box, you’ll find your printer, a micro USB charging cable, a pack of 10 2X3” ZINK Paper and the manual. The battery is rechargeable lithium-ion that works for up to 25 photos per charge.
