This CF is from vines at least 28 years old and aged in mostly French oak for 20+ months and bottled unfiltered. Such a bold nose of concentrated field raspberry, bramble, mulled herbs, violets, currants and toasted vanilla and oak spices. It’s a classically styled Niagara CF on the palate with bold cherry, graphite, a range of red berries, herbs, blackcurrants and spice.
Deep garnet with fine particles. The nose shows lots of oak, vanilla, plums and prunes. From a ripe vintage, this has lots of alcohol and port-like flavours, featuring stewed plums, but a bit one-dimensional. The tannins are softening; this will get better with a little more time.
This blend of Assyrtiko, Aidani and Athiri, from the sun-drenched paradise known as Santorini, flatters with a perfume of peach, pear, white flowers, lime, white pepper and mineral. The medium body, refreshing acidity and great length makes for a perfect pairing with grilled kalamari served on a shaved fennel, orange and olive oil salad.
One of the best value traditional method sparkling wines you will find from France! Toast, peach, pear, binned apple, lemon, mushroom and spiciness are all present. The rich texture, lively acidity and protracted finale make for one fine bubbly! A blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Mauzac.
Ruby-red. Nice red-fruits nose, fine oak notes and a touch of torrefaction. Supple texture, medium body, balanced from the mid-palate to the long finish. A nice glass of Bordeaux at a reasonable price.
The grapes for this Oregon Gris from the Willamette Valley were first planted in the Dundee Hills in 1970. Gris fans will love it. Creamy pear, cantaloupe, pineapple and minerals are showy on the nose. The malolactic fermentation rounds out the lush peach, pear and melon fruits on the palate yet there is vibrancy through the finish.
Dark yellow. Striking nose of honey and exotic fruits, minerally. In a slightly oxidized style, it feels mellow and half dry on the palate, but the finish is sharp, fresh and very long. Quite original from a little known appellation that uses the same grape (Chenin Blanc) as Vouvray.
