Rich, complex, elegant and silky-smooth, with dried fruit, honey, vanilla, almonds and smoke, a long, full finish, a touch of spice and well-balanced alcohol.
Durif, or Petite Sirah, really makes this wine and gives it life: mocha, blackberry and black cherry with blueberry skin, violets and pepper in there for good measure.
From the winery’s recently planted, high-elevation, organic vineyard. Made in two amphorae, whole-bunched in one and de-stemmed in the other, on skins for 10 months, with no additives or other manipulation except for being topped up. Brilliant crimson hue with strawberry, medium cherry and sage notes on the nose before a lush, fuller-bodied palate with structure and elegance, underpinned by a gentle hint of savoury.
Clear, medium-deep garnet. Medium-intensity, fully developed and complex nose including raspberry, cherry, liquorice, and coffee aromas with a bit of dust. Medium-bodied with highish acidity, powdery tannins and a long finish. Flavours of fresh tart cherries and dark berries. Will improve for another year or 2.
This blend of Marsanne and Viognier has seen new oak. Full-bodied, the perfume of peach, honeysuckle, pineapple, banana, cream and spice enthralls the senses. The full-bodied palate is thick and oily with a great aftertaste.
Fresh and juicy with strawberry, cherry and citrus aromas and flavours. Slightly fizzy with a touch of residual sweetness on the finish. A great match with spicy Italian sausage, bratwurst and pulled pork.
Intense pear, apple, cream, spice, floral and vanilla hits the nose. On the taste buds, there is much the same, as well as spice, excellent length, creaminess and refreshing acidity. Drink now or over the next 3 years.
