This blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon is the red “Bistro” companion for the Chardonnay. Mid-weight; a perfume of raspberry, cassis, smoke, tobacco leaf, violets and herbs carries over to the palate. Very good length and ready to go with steak frites.
Aromatic plum, cherry, earthy mushroom and a whiff of green herb lead the way for lusciously spicy bitter cherry flavour supported by moderately dry tannins and lively acidity. Vigorous and appetizing.
Durif, or Petite Sirah, really makes this wine and gives it life: mocha, blackberry and black cherry with blueberry skin, violets and pepper in there for good measure.
A great-value Pinot. Deep ruby colour; rhubarb and raspberry nose with an earthy note; medium-bodied, elegant, dry, well-made with a light oak nuance.
Distilled in a very small Alambic Charentais this sophisticated spirit has an amazingly fragrant, elusively floral and spirity nose. Light, oily smoothness on the palate reveals surprisingly full flavour, no sense of rawness, yet a pleasantly warming touch of alcohol on the finish. The best vodka I have tasted for some time.
Opens with distinctly smoky, tarry aromas over varietal ripe raspberry and peppery spice. Ripe raspberry and blackberry flavours come with unusual dry herbal notes, dark chocolate and lightly firm tannic grip.
With 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, primarily from Oliver’s from Rock Pocket vineyard. Forward black fruit and mocha notes with some peppery hints before a well balanced, medium to full bodied, plush palate of mulberry, cassis and black cherry, with spicy undertones and well balanced tannins through the rounded end.
