Marine salts from first whiff carry throughout this lees-cushioned, medium-bodied Sicilian white. The local Catarratto grape dominates the blend, complemented by other local and international grapes. Herbal blossoms, hay, yellow apples are perfumed with subtle acacia spices and spiced with a rasp of Mediterranean scrub. A friendly white, ideal for white-fleshed fish.
Deep ruby colour with a minerally nose of dried cherries lifted with a floral note;,dry and elegant, medium to full bodied, beautifully balanced and finishing with a savoury note.
A somewhat ambitious white cuvée that shows a medium yellow colour with green reflections. Nose is citrusy and oaky with a light herbaceous note. Very fat texture, thick; balance is on the acidic side with some bitterness in the finish. This is obviously not ready to drink and not representative of its future taste. Wait a few years; it may surprise you.
Ever reliable, this great-value wine has evolved into a lighter, pure fruit style offering fresh lemon citrus and tropical fruit freshness with deftly balanced acidity and a light, clean finish. Equally good as an aperitif or paired with lighter seafood and white meat dishes.
Robert Oatley used to own Rosemount Estate before he sold it to the giant Southcorp group and opened his eponymous winery. This wine is pale straw in colour with a grassy, gooseberry nose — flavours that replicate on the palate. It’s medium bodied and fresh with lively acidity.
An emerging region in southeastern Spain that’s offering great bang for the buck. A nose of blueberry, cherry, plums and light spice. The mouth shows bright plums and berries with grippy tannins and a kiss of oak spice. The ultimate porch-sipper when unexpected thirsty neighbours show up at the door. Serve with tapas.
Ruby-purple. Fresh fruity nose of raspberry, blackberry and a hint of white pepper. Light- to medium-bodied, a well-dosed vegetal note keeps it fresh in the supple, crunchy-fruity mid-palate. Clean finish with a good length. Ideal now on charcuterie.
