Siblings Martine Pages and Christophe Molinier are fourth generation vignerons overseeing an estate (biodynamic since 2013) that dates back some 115 years. Concrete fermented, with the Carignan whole bunch pressed, aged 12 months in French oak. Aromas of dried fruit with earthy undertones before a mouth-filling palate supported by firm tannins.
All stainless-steel fermented. Appealing aromas of apple and stone fruit before a lively and well-balanced palate, accentuated by juicy acidity with peach, apricot and citrus notes through a lingering close.
Highly aromatic gooseberry backed up with fresh grassy and mineral scents and a whiff of passion fruit. Followed by mouth-watering citrus and green gooseberry flavours, vibrant acidity and grippy mineral in the classic Marlborough style.
Light ruby in colour; earthy, raspberry and dried tea-leaf nose; medium-bodied, candied raspberry flavour with a note of smoky oak, lively acidity and a warm alcoholic finish.
The 5 denotes that the wine spent that amount of time aging on its yeast cells before being disgorged. This has created a bubbly with lots of toasty/yeasty qualities which marry with strawberry, peach, cherry and earth qualities. Bright acidity, long finish and a certain austerity hallmark this wine.
This Chard was fermented with wild yeast strains in Canadian oak barrels and further aged in Canadian oak for 1 year. This has a big buttery nose of poached pear, baked apple, caramel, toasted vanilla and a range of baking spices. It’s a big, full-on Chard with orchard fruits and then butterscotch, vanilla, caramel and toasted oak flavours that benefit from just a squirt of citrus on the finish.
Rosé gets a bad rap because of White Zinfandel, but good dry rosés are delicious and default food wines. Made from Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Pinot Noir grapes, this wine is full and juicy with aromas and flavours of raspberry, cranberry and cherry with hints of spice, earth and fresh herbs, medium structure and a long, fresh finish. Anyone who thinks rosés aren’t delicious and versatile wines will be converted with just one taste.
