Reveals Bordeaux-like aromatics with just a whiff of sooty dry ink, characteristic of some older Cape vines. Classic piquant blackcurrant and green herbal flavours are supported by lightly astringent tannins and slightly prominent acidity. Well-integrated fruit, cinnamon, clove, fine oak and a trace of mocha on the finish.
Deep purple-black in colour; spicy, peppery, floral, blackberry nose with an oaky note; lovely mouthfeel, elegant and muscular with a firm finish. Great value.
A blend of Viognier (68%), Roussanne (17%) and Grenache Blanc (15%). The wine is a light straw colour with a bouquet of peach, minerals and white flowers. Medium-bodied and dry with lively acidity, it’s terrific value and a versatile food wine.
Viognier (67%), Chenin Blanc (19%) and Grenache Blanc (14%). Opens with aromatic peach and lemon citrus notes and a light floral lift. Clean stone-fruit flavours come with a smooth mouthfeel, well-behaved acidity and a lightly sweet fruit sensation on the finish. Could pass for a good Rhône blend.
A nifty Chenin that’s typical of this South African staple white with an expressive nose of tropical fruits, grapefruit, peach and a touch of wild honey. It’s big (14% alcohol) and refreshingly dry on the palate with a creamy texture and loaded with pineapple and peach fruit goodness. It’s fresh and vibrant through the finish. Pair with cold chicken dishes, seafood or perfect with sushi.
Northern Rhône style, smoky blackberry nose with a herbal note; full on the palate, dry and savoury with a bitter chocolate finish. Lively acidity, full-bodied and amazing value.
Sourced from unirrigated, low-yielding 40-year-old bush vines, it unleashes astonishing complexity. Floral, spicy, honeyed aromas lead to rich flavours of baked apple, ripe pear and vanilla. Partial new French oak aging confers structure, a buttery texture and long finish. Serve with Asian-spiced seafood.
