Firm, fresh and focused, nicely textural, citrus and floral, minerally and salty with juicy, mouth-watering acidity. 70% Loureiro, 30% Alvarinho. An incredible bargain with freshness and backbone.
Soft plum, raspberry, blackberry on the sweetish, easy palate, with tannins wicked away and a cushion of soft lees supporting to the short finish. This is a simple blend of Syrah, Castelão and Aragonez (aka Tempranillo) that is best drunk now, with beef or mushroom burgers.
Clear deep plum red. Medium-intensity, grapey nose with blackberry and raisin. Medium-bodied, tannins still very high, concentrated dark berry flavours. Should improve for another couple of years.
Shows yellow straw colour with notably aromatic floral perfume, yellow tropical fruit showing pineapple and whiff of banana. Lively yellow fruit flavours get added lift from a squeeze of lemon, backed by stony mineral and refreshing acidity. Offers plenty of characterful flavour and great value. Pair with Mediterranean seafood dishes.
Clear deep garnet. Layered nose of sweet red raspberries over raisins, over wood. Light-bodied and thin mid-palate, tasting of sour cherries with a short finish. Drink now.
Blend of four indigenous varietals. Clear medium gold. Complex nose of cantaloupe, sharp pineapple, apple and cinnamon. Full-bodied with the spice and complexity of a Gewürz crossed with the body and fruit of a Viognier. Flavours of honey, pear, peach and rich apple seasoned with a dash of lime and some walnut bitterness. Terrific value. Will last another year.
An unfiltered style of LBV, the wine is opaque black/purple with a soaring bouquet of plum, blackberry, crème de cassis, raspberry, violets, raisins and spice. Concentrated, powerful and sweet, it is very much enjoyable right now but should age well for a decade.
