Experience a World of Wine and Spirits

This weekend marks the 9th Montreal Wine and Spirits Show at the Palais des congrès de Montréal running from March 25th until March 28th.

If you need a reason to escape your daily routine, here it is. This kind of large-scale show is a great opportunity to learn about wine and spirits. With over 280 producers from 5 continents, you’ll be able to sample from a huge selection of products, meet the producers in person, have your questions answered and simply marvel at the unbridled passion these producers have for their products. The shows that I’ve attended over the past number of years also showcase an appetizing assortment of gourmet fare. This one promises to be no different. On top of all that, Élyse Lambert, Best Sommelier of the Americas 2009, is the official spokesperson for the event. It’s a great opportunity to learn some of the tricks of the trade from the best in the world.

Put on your walking shoes. The show covers an area of 10000 m2 and approximately 20000 visitors will pass through the doors. Tickets are $15 and include one complimentary drink and a Guide Book. Prices for tasting booths vary, so make sure you bring lots of spare change.

If you can’t make it to Montreal this weekend, don’t feel that you’ve missed out. The California Wine Fair, announced here on March 10, is travelling all across the country. Coming up on the 31st will be further information on even more scheduled stops for the Fair.

Get your wine glasses ready and your taste buds primed for a food and drink extravaganza.
