30 Minute Meals

By / Food / August 17th, 2009 / 1

The last thing most people want to do on a sweltering summer day is spend a lot of time preparing a meal. There’s no need to go out to a restaurant or order for delivery, though. Quick grilling is the best way to keep you and you’re kitchen cool. With very little planning, it’s possible to prepare a gourmet meal in 30 minutes or less.

Follow these tips, and you will be the envy of your friends and family.

– Prep all the ingredients you’ll need for the entire meal. Do this the night before, in the morning or as the grill is heating up.

– Read through the entire recipe before you begin cooking to make sure that you’ve got all the supplies you will need to prepare it.

– Cut meat and vegetables into equal sizes. If everything is about the same size, all the parts of the recipe will come together quickly. Thin slices cook the fastest. But, don’t slice fish into strips. Most types of fish need very little cooking time. Place them whole on the barbecue and grill just until the outside edges are browned and the interior is pink.

While grocery shopping, choose meats, vegetables and grains that can be combined into a meal. For example, fresh tuna and a package of Chinese-style noodles make a great combination.
