Wines Lost on My Desk

By / Wine + Drinks / June 4th, 2014 / 2

I was cleaning my desk, as we all are apt to do at one time or another, and I came across a small pile of wine reviews that I meant to share with you but they never seemed to fit with what I was talking about.

So today it’s a mish-mash of wines that I’m recommending with no coherent theme, but they are all worth your time and tastebuds.

And looking at the state of my desk, you might see me do this more often:

Kim Crawford 2013 Pansy Rosé, Australia ($17.95)

An interesting Malbec-Merlot combination to make pink: lovely strawberry, melon, raspberry and cherry on the nose with a fruity palate that comes across as slightly dry.

Vinedos Marchigue 2012 Panul Chardonnay, Chile ($10.80)

Aromas are a mix of buckwheat honey, sweet caramel, mandarin orange clove and floral; while the palate has pear, orange peel, spice and gentle acidity.

Tempus Two 2011 Cabernet Merlot, Australia ($16.90)

Black cherry, plum, mocha, cassis, blackberry, anise, smoke and herbal notes which follow onto the palate with a lively hit of tannins … great BBQ red.

Fowles Wine 2010 Are You Game? Shiraz, Australia ($16.95)

Raspberry, cherry, chocolate and white pepper grab the nose and reel you in; palate is just as impressive with mocha, black pepper, black raspberry, black cherry and a long balanced finish … real bang for the buck here.
