Another Medal for Canada in London

By / Wine + Drinks / August 14th, 2012 / 2

The first ultra-premium vodka made entirely in Quebec and Canada’s most highly awarded vodka has just won a silver medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) held in London, England.

Established in 1969, this independent competition received product entries from over 90 countries this year alone, including almost 100 vodkas. Specializing in the spirits industry and double blind tastings the judges at this year’s competition were especially keen on awarding medals to those most deserving.

PUR Vodka has been awarded immediate international recognition, winning 17 medals since its debut at world competitions in London, New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

This award is quite the accomplishment for PUR Vodka’s president, Nicolas Duvernois. His may not be the first distillery in Quebec, but for now at least, it is the most successful. Made entirely from Quebec-sourced corn and water. Retailing for $40 a bottle, see if you can find a bottle at your local purveyor to try for yourself. You can contact PUR Vodka at purvodka.ca. Duvernois is looking forward to launching this vodka soon in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
