Meet Josh, Cellars that is

I’m sure we all have a story in our personal lexicon’s that begin with “I met this guy…” … but I’m willing to bet the one I’m about to tell you has an ending you won’t see coming.

So I met this guy named Joseph Carr who has quite the past: Master Sommelier level 2 at age 23; president of Wolf Blass by 39; helped to start the Greg Norman line of wines and when he came back to California became winemaker for Freemark Abbey. But nothing really could prepare him for the success he was going to have with his Josh Cellars brainchild, named after his father; the Cabernet Sauvignon alone became the #1 Cabernet in the U.S.

Those are the highlights of Joseph Carr’s life, now let’s look at the wines he is creating under the popular Josh label.

Josh Cellars 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, California ($19.95)

This is the heart of the Josh line up and the most popular Cabernet in the US of A and it’s not hard to see why, smooth and easy drinking with lots of cherry and blackberry.

Josh Cellars 2012 Legacy, California ($21.95)

A pretty intense red made of Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah and Petite Sirah. A sweet mid-palate loaded with plum, vanilla, black cherry and raspberry.

Josh Cellars 2012 Chardonnay, California ($17.95)

It’s got everything you want in a Chardonnay, buttery-creaminess and lovely fruit.
