By / Wine + Drinks / August 30th, 2012 / 1

With the last long weekend of summer upon us, it’s important to kick back, relax and reflect upon the summer that’s been (and that will hopefully continue well into the fall). Depending on where you happen to lay your hat, you’ve no doubt found that this has been a summer like no other. One of the warmest on record, these summer days have been long and perfect. So, as an added bonus to all the great summer recipes posted here at Tidings throughout these delicious summer months, we offer you two more refreshing and flavourful cocktails. Enjoy them as you would a hot, sunny day – sipping and savouring every drop.

Hot and Spicy Daiquiri

One Wry Whisky
Serves 1

2 oz Rye whisky
1 oz simple syrup
4 dashes Angostura bitters

Pour the rye whisky, simple syrup and bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice; shake well. Strain into a chilled glass.
