Chill Out!

By / Wine + Drinks / August 26th, 2014 / 2

It’s a beautiful evening and a few friends have dropped in to share a glass or two on the back patio. Great…except that your favourite white is far from chilled. Even your reds have slightly succumbed to the summer temps and are a little less that ideal in the serving temperature department. Worry not! You can chill those out in 10 minutes (or less). Here’s how;

Step 1

Fill an ice bucket 1/2 way with ice. If you don’t have an ice bucket, improvise. A small (clean!) garbage bin works well.

Step 2

Top the bucket up with water.

Step 3

Add salt and stir. Yup, salt. It will prevent the ice from melting quickly.

Step 4

Put your bottle(s) in. Make sure to spin/rotate the bottle(s) every 2 minutes.

Step 5

Enjoy a cool class of wine in 10 minutes!

If you can’t find an ice bucket, wrap your bottle in a damp dishcloth and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes.
