Tropical Peach Pineapple Slushies

Source: Averie Cooks

I love peaches. I also love pineapples. The two together are like heaven in a glass, in my opinion anyway. This recipe, by Averie Sunshine, has no added sugar and an alcohol kick that sneaks up on you. So sip and savour, rather than chugging. Though, to be fair, chugging will give you one heck of a brain freeze. The tropical flavours transport you to the beach, even if you’re stuck in your small, humid apartment, like my friends and I were when I whipped this up.

My Version of Tropical Peach Pineapple Slushies

2 Servings

I opted to just buy a bag of frozen peaches and a bag of frozen pineapples. I make myself breakfast smoothies almost every morning (non-alcoholic, I promise), so I can add the peaches and pineapples to other things. If you don’t need a full bag of frozen fruit, then do as Averie suggests in the original recipe – cut up some peaches and pineapple, toss them in a freezer bag and freeze them overnight.

1 1/2 cups frozen peaches
1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple
2 shots white rum
2 shots vodka
2 shots Peach Schnapps

Put all ingredients in the blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.
