My Version of Boozy Strawberry Lemonade Slushies
6 – 8 Servings
The recipes calls for putting the whole kit-and-caboodle in the freezer overnight, but I have one of the tiniest freezers known to man (well, except for those laughable shelves that come with mini-fridges). So I couldn’t really do the over-night freezing bit. Instead, I used frozen strawberries and made simple syrup ice cubes.
Simple syrup ice cubes (recipe below)
3 cups frozen strawberries
3/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (from 6-8 large lemons)
3/4 cup vodka
1/3 cup Cointreau liqueur
Fresh strawberries and lemon slices for garnish, if desired
Put all ingredients (except the garnish, of course) in a blender and mix until completely blended and smooth. Spoon into glasses, add garnish – a strawberry and a lemon slice – and serve with a straw and spoon.

Add sugar and 1 cup water to a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and add remaining 2 cups water. Stir until water is no longer boiling hot. Pour into ice cube trays and set in the freezer overnight.
